Mobimar has recently designed two passenger vessels, one for commercial use and the other one for pure pleasure: the large trimaran passenger vessel Mobimar 21 Passenger Craft, with seats for one hundred passengers, and the luxurious trimaran super yacht called Mobimar 31 Passenger Yacht.

The superior characteristics of Mobimar’s trimaran concept made it an excellent basis for the waterbus-like Mobimar 21 Passenger craft as well as the luxurious superyacht Mobimar 31 Passenger yacht.

The trimaran hull form is especially suited for operations demanding lots of deck space, but not necessarily heavy loading capacity. According to your preferences, the wide deck can be used for a seating more spacious and comfortable than on your average monohull or catamaran passenger vessel, or alternatively for carrying more passengers. The shape of the three hulls ensure a smoother ride in heavier sea, the side hulls also preventing rolling as well as wave slamming in between the hulls, as in the case of catamarans.

Slim hulls, the lightness of the aluminium construction and low displacement are all features shared by Mobimar trimaran vessels. They enable the use of smaller, more cost-efficient engines and also significantly lower the fuel consumption. On the other hand, if using same sized engines as in monohulls or catamarans, the trimaran can either achieve higher speed and smaller consumption in litres/NM or be run with a clearly lower engine load, lengthening the engine’s expected lifetime.

In addition to the economical benefits, the trimaran hull also presents an ecological advantage. The lower fuel consumption (in liters/NM and in pax quantity compared to an equally sized monohull vessel or catamaran) and the longer expected engine lifetime also makes the carbon footprint per transported passenger considerably lower.
