MOBIMAR WORKBOAT FOR OIL RECOVERY AND OFFSHORE FIELD SUPPORT SERVICES

Oil Recovery and Offshore Field Support Boat Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei

In order for an offshore oil recovery operation to be successful it’s absolutely crucial to reach the accident spot fast. The vessels and equipment used should be especially designed and tested for this kind of scenario.

To meet the demanding requirements and the potentially harsh weather conditions at oil accident scenes offshore, Mobimar developed an oil recovery system with a whole series of vessels, which collect more oil more effectively than other currently used systems. When Mobimar’s Oil Recovery vessels are optimally positioned, the oil spill can be enclosed before it starts spreading and making the operation more difficult.

The oil recovery vessel, equipped with Mobimar FinnSweep® integrated brush oil skimmer system, carries oil containment booms and Floating Inflatable Tanks (FIT) to the oil accident scene at high speed. After arrival the vessel effectively encloses the oil and starts the skimming operation: the oil is pumped to the FIT and when full, the FIT is detached and replaced with an empty one from the deck store.

The filled FIT is then towed with a support boat (a small tug, trawler or alike) to the port for emptying. These same boats transport emptied FITs back to the oil recovery vessel. With an adequate amount of FITs in rotation, the tank capacity is limitless. (A 25 m3 FIT weighs less than 200 kg.) Normally the only choice for an oil recovery vessel with a tank is to regularly return to port for emptying the tanks. During that time, usually amounting to several hours, the vessel’s whole recovery capacity is removed from the scene.

MOBIMAR WORKBOAT FOR PORT SERVICES

Port, Harbour, Oil Refinery Boat Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei

Mobimar’s workboats for port service are built for year-round operations – for pushing and tugging as well as liaison traffic. They have large bollards for the handling of tanker ropes, and can take up to 300 meters of oil boom on their wide, 35 m² aft deck.

The vessels accelerate to full speed at two boat-lengths and makes emergency stop just as fast. The noise level in the wheelhouse is well below the Safety in Labour regulations, and even work on deck is possible without ear plugs.

MOBIMAR WORKBOAT FOR OFFSHORE WIND FARM SERVICE AND CREW TRANSFER

Offshore Crew Transfer Boat Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei

Most offshore windfarms are located where even average wind speeds are high enough to meet power production requirements. At the same time construction expenses are tried to be kept at a minimum by building in rather shallow waters. But as both strong winds and shallow waters generate higher and sharper waves, you need reliable and stable crew transfer vessels. For this reason, Mobimar has developed the innovative trimaran CTV Mobimar 18 Wind.

Mobimar 18 Wind provides safer transfers to offshore wind turbines, made possible by the stable trimaran hull and the unique gripper system in the bow. The vessel is classified to sea state Hs 4.0 and as disembarkation is possible in up to Hs 2.5 meters, you get more operational days and less downtime! Not only are the operational costs significantly lower than for most other currently used CTV’s due to crew qualification under 750 kW but the fuel consumption is lower as well (linear to the amount of kilowatts). Extra propulsion in the form of two waterjets ensures that the service operation continues even in case of a main engine failure.

A smoother landing

The 180 degree approaching angle allows choosing the most convenient direction according to wind and sea current. The engine can idle during the landing, while the gripper is in either a gripping or sliding mode. This also makes underwater maintenance works at the turbine easier and safer to perform. Due to the trimaran hull characteristics, the impact on the platform is much smaller than with corresponding CTV’s. The vessel has seats for 12 passengers.

MOBIMAR WORKBOAT FOR RESEARCH & SURVEY

Research and Survey Boat Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei

Mobimar designs and builds research and survey vessels based on the specific needs of the buyer and the research area.

Common features for most research vessels are good stability, ample working area for research-related tasks as well as large accommodation areas. The vessel can also be based on the trimaran Mobimar 35 Survey, offering an exceptionally wide and stable working platform, space for wet and dry laboratories, a decompression chamber and accommodation for 12 researchers.

MOBIMAR WORKBOAT FOR SAFETY & RESCUE

Safety and Rescue Boat Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei

Safety and rescue operations at sea can consist of many different types of assignments – search and rescue of missing persons, ambulance transportation, towing and draining of boats, first-aid as well as fire extinguishing.

Mobimar designs and builds the boat according to the specific requirements of the geographical area and the area of operation; like speed, safety in rough weather, stability, spaciousness and the possibility to go ashore in very shallow waters.
